Seawolves Stick Rawhides with 6-2 Loss
|
The Long Island Seawolves stymied the Belvedere Park Rawhides, 6-2, at Field of the Rawhides. Alfredo Escalante, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times for Long Island. Long Island starter Daniel Lavalley was credited with the win after throwing 84 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-6. Henri Paravicini got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Denis Jerningham was a key contributor to the win for the Seawolves. In the top of the eighth with two out, the light-hitting center fielder stroked a single to center. He went 1 for 1.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Escalante told the Long Island Bulletin.
Long Island currently is in 11th place in the Menard's AA at 28-50.
