Polar Bears Prevail, 3-2, Over Marquette
|
Chiel Abspoel pitched a good game, but his team, the Marquette Miners, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Billings Polar Bears at Marquette Stadium. Bryan Tuff recorded the save for Billings, his 15th of the season. Billings has now won 5 straight.
Wu-shiun Wang was a key contributor to the win for the Polar Bears. In the top of the eighth with no one out, the light-hitting second baseman stroked a double to center. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Said Billings manager Todd England: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
