Ghosts Deal Deuces 6-1 Setback
|
Casper beat Virginia Beach at The Graveyard, escaping with a 6-1 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Ron Thomas, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Ghosts improve their record to 35-39 with the win over Virginia Beach.
Thomas came through with some timely hitting for Casper. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the third and two down, Thomas hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season -- and a big reason the Ghosts managed to win.
Thomas told the Casper Chronicle: "I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more.' You win just by scoring more runs."
