Ft. Polk South starter José Molina pitched effectively against the San Bernardino Grasshoppers at Field of the Grasshoppers. The right-hander led his team to a 8-3 win. Molina got the win, improving to 4-8. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Molina allowed 1 earned run. Getting the save was Joey Hamman, his 6th.
Rob Morse broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the third with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It put the Thunder Hawks in front, 2-1. For the game, Morse was 1 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Molina. "Successful pitchers do it."
The Thunder Hawks go to 26-46, putting them 10th in the Menard's AA.
