Piranhas Get 6-4 Win Versus Detroit
|
The Panama City Piranhas defeated the Detroit Renaissance, 6-4, at The Tank. Panama City first baseman Baldomero Avino was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Anderson O'Mara earned the save for Panama City, his 19th. The Piranhas, at 44-31, have now won 4 straight.
It could have been a different outcome for Panama City, had it not been for Juan Jose Ayala, the speedster . Ayala contributed a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second inning to put Panama City up, 2-1.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Avino. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
