The Glendale Herons picked up a win at The Igloo, knocking off the Billings Polar Bears, 4-2. Starting pitcher Donald Gregory was an essential part of his team's success. Gregory, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. The 5th-place Herons improved to 28-22.
Also playing a key role was Takechi Okubo. The Glendale third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, Okubo was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times.
