Northern Virginia and Boston duked it out at Dunkin Donuts Park and the Rainbow Mermaids came out victorious.

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids topped the Boston Patriots, 5-1, in Premier League action at Dunkin Donuts Park. The player of the game was Northern Virginia pitcher Arnie Pittman. The winning pitcher was Pittman, now 6-3. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5.

Also playing a key role was Ed Adams. The Northern Virginia pinch hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, Adams went 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"I thought we played a nice game," Pittman told the Northern Virginia Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

At 35-40, Northern Virginia is in 6th place in the Premier League.
