5 Straight Wins for Polar Bears
|
Billings Polar Bears starter Anatoly Ivanovich turned in an exceptional performance against the Casper Ghosts at The Graveyard, resulting in a Billings win, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Ivanovich, now 1-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Raúl Flores finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Tied up with the Ghosts in the top of the seventh, the Polar Bears got a boost from pinch hitter Víctor Fortis. With the bases empty, Fortis saw a 2-1 fastball from Raymond Allan and hit a solo home run to break the stalemate and put Billings on top, 2-1.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Billings manager Todd England.
Billings has now won 5 games in a row.
