Shooters Stymie Billings, Take 7-1 Win
|
The Springfield Shooters picked up a win at The Igloo, knocking off the Billings Polar Bears, 7-1. Starting pitcher Jorge Otero, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Springfield, now 23-11, holds second place in the Menard's AA.
Willis Kirkendall, who leads the 3AA in RBI with 32, aided the Springfield cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the first. For the game, the third baseman went 1-4 with a walk.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Kirkendall told the Springfield Observer.
