Seawolves Lose Late, 4-2
|
Glendale Herons starter Gilberto Medina was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Long Island Seawolves, 4-2. Medina, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing no earned runs. Glendale now sits at 20-13, while Long Island falls to 8-25.
Glendale took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Claudio Tappen hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Herons fans to their feet.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Long Island skipper Matt Helsley, "and it cost us."
