Loss Extends Atlantic City Losing Streak

Glendale Herons starter Gilberto Medina was in fine form against the Atlantic City Sonics at Heron Field, leading his team to a 6-1 win. Medina picked up the win for Glendale, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Nick Riviera finished to wrap up his 2nd save.
There was more than one reason the Herons beat the Sonics, but one factor was Takechi Okubo. In the bottom of the fifth, the Glendale third baseman came to bat and hit a 2-run home run. It staked his team to a 3-1 lead.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Atlantic City manager Jacob Green.
The slumping Sonics have dropped 6 in a row.
