Rawhides Saddle Seawolves with 7-1 Loss
|
Belvedere Park Rawhides starter Nick Mason turned in a top-notch performance against the Long Island Seawolves at Ballpark of Remsen. The result was a win for the Rawhides, 7-1. Mason, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Today's win puts Belvedere Park at 9-15, while Long Island falls to 5-19.
Also playing a key role was Willie Brown. The Belvedere Park first baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, Brown went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Mason.
