Thundercats Best Patriots in Pitching Duel
|
The Boston Patriots got a superb performance from pitcher John Kaufman. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Richardson City. The Thundercats won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Kaufman was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Armando Gonzáles got credit for the win, improving to 3-5. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 0.2 innings. The Thundercats now have a record of 32-40 with the win over Boston.
Joey Jones contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a single. It was one at-bat that helped Richardson City get the win.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Richardson City manager Imran Kopitar.
