Herons Hang 2-1 Loss on Miners
|
Yoriyoshi Yoshimura pitched a gem to lead Glendale to a 2-1 victory over the Marquette Miners. Yoshimura got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Yoshimura allowed 1 earned run. Jason Troughton got credit for the save for Glendale. It was his 2nd of the year.
Flexing his muscles for Glendale was Claudio Tappen. The center fielder had a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth for the Herons. It put his team ahead, 2-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Tappen went 1 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Said Glendale manager Juan López: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
Glendale, at 12-9, sits in 6th place in the Menard's AA.
