Miners Reel Off Another Win
|
Marquette Miners starter Chiel Abspoel was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 5-3. Abspoel, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 6, and allowing 2 earned runs. The Marquette Miners, now 11-5, have been playing some good baseball.
Steve Koch, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AA in stolen bases with 6, aided the Marquette cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Ft. Polk South manager Howard Martínez. "The effort was great."
