The Belvedere Park Rawhides topped the Billings Polar Bears, 6-1, in M3L Double A action at The Igloo. The player of the game was Belvedere Park pitcher and Camagüey, Cuba native Claudio Avelardo. Avelardo was the winning pitcher and moves to 1-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Cornelius Bigelow earned the save for Belvedere Park, his 1st of the year.
Also contributing to the win was left fielder Fernando Rutledge, who stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth for Belvedere Park. For the game, Rutledge went 1-3 with a double.
"It was a solid team effort," said Rutledge after the game.
With the loss, Billings falls to 5-2.
