In a tight contest at Panda Park, the Montana Pandas edged the Toledo Stingers by the score of 11-6. The Montana Pandas' designated hitter Thomas Vaughan, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Montana reliever Ramón Ortega was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Jeff Hale took the loss for Toledo. Montana is in last place in the Third League with a record of 9-90.
One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth. That's when Pancho Salaedo hit a 2-run single. The Pandas went on to win.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Salaedo.
