Late Rally by Red Knights Secures Win
|
It was a fun time at Capital Grounds, where the New Amsterdam Dutchmen and Capital District Red Knights tangled.
The Capital District Red Knights picked up a win at Capital Grounds, knocking off the New Amsterdam Dutchmen, 4-3. Starting pitcher Luis Peña played a key role in the triumph. Capital District reliever Oswaldo Mobray was the winner. His record is now 6-3. J.J. Spencer took the loss. Getting the save was Miguel Toro, his 23rd.
In the bottom of the 8th, third baseman Sergio Ortíz gave Capital District the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Red Knights had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out double off New Amsterdam pitcher J.J. Spencer changed that -- and Capital District went on to win.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Peña.
The win puts the Red Knights at 50-49, while the Dutchmen drop to 54-45.
