Coffman Sensational for Dutchmen
|
Both teams had their chances, but the New Amsterdam Dutchmen eventually prevailed at Pacesetter Park.
New Amsterdam beat Toledo on the strength of starter Walt Coffman's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. Toledo has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Coffman, who dominated for New Amsterdam, earned the victory to move to 12-9. He was in control the whole game, scattering 1 hit over 9 innings, while striking out 11. Toledo batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"I felt good even in the late innings," said Coffman after the game.
