Martin Lays Hammer Down in 3-1 Win
|
The Houston 1837 BBC got a magnificent performance from pitcher Marvin Martin, who muffled the Kingston Township offense en route to a tight 3-1 1837 BBC win at Houston Grounds. Ash Wooden closed the door for Houston, picking up his 17th save of the year. The 1837 BBC saw their win-loss record go to 52-35. At the same time, the Legion fall to 50-37.
Martin allowed 1 run over 8.2 innings. He also racked up 11 strikeouts.
Martin said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
