|
The Buckhead Bowties racked up a win at 5 Paces Park, bumping off the Capital District Red Knights, 5-4. Henry Yates, who started for Buckhead, pitched effectively for his team. Yates went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-11. Buckhead is 10th in the Third League with a record of 38-49.
Al Thomas dealt the Red Knights a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Buckhead leading 2-1, Thomas hit a 1-0 curveball for a bases-clearing double.
"Henry was throwing strikes, locating well," said Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister.
