Hawks Fall Short at Toledo
|
The Toledo Stingers knocked off the Chicago Hawks, 3-2. Toledo starter Ed Stark pitched well enough to earn top player honors. Stark went the distance for Toledo. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. The Chicago losing streak has now reached 5 games.
Leonard O'Connor had the most critical at-bat for Toledo, coming in the top of the ninth inning with one out and a runner on 1st. O'Connor hit a 2-0 curveball from Matt Harris for a 2-run home run. It put Toledo in front, 3-2.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Anthony Yaghmour.
