Evergreens Trip Flamingos in Extras
|
The Portland Evergreens and Las Vegas Flamingos put on quite a show at The Strip.
Las Vegas wasted a solid 7.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Shunen Takahashi, losing to Portland, 1-0, at The Strip. Walt Cooley got credit for the save for Portland. It was his 1st of the year.
The most important at-bat for Portland came in the top of the 11th inning, when first baseman John Ennis stroked a first pitch fastball to right-center for a solo home run, putting Portland up, 1-0.
Ennis told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
The 'W' lifts Portland's record to 48-26.
