Toledo withstood an impressive performance by Greenville left fielder Francisco Reyes to defeat the 84s, 5-3, at 84s Field. Reyes went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Brad Cunnick earned the win to go to 7-7. He allowed 3 earned runs on 9 hits, with 10 walks and 2 strikeouts. Cristo Rodríguez got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Also contributing to the win was shortstop Locke Lamora, who stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth for Toledo. For the game, Lamora went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Greenville manager John Bosma. "But we decided not to take it."
Toledo has a 4-game win streak, while Greenville has lost 3 in a row.
