Stingers Rally For Late Win Over 84s
|
The Toledo Stingers trumped the Greenville 84s, 6-5, at Pacesetter Park. Toledo center fielder Dylan Carson was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Toledo reliever Sean Evans got the win, raising his record to 1-1. José Rico was tagged with the loss. Toledo is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Carson had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch cutter from José Rico, he banged a run-scoring double to right, giving the Stingers a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th double of the year for Carson.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds.
