Bowties Walk It Off for 25th Win of Season
|
The Buckhead Bowties electrified 5 Paces Park with a thrilling, walk-off win.
In a low-scoring contest between the Buckhead Bowties and the Toledo Stingers, pitcher Ramón Torres was at the top of his game. The Buckhead left-hander was named the player of the game in Buckhead's 2-1 win. Pat Pérez, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings.
Ricardo Cardenas provided some late-game heroics for Buckhead. In the bottom of the tenth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 0-1 fastball from Joshua Barnes and propelled Buckhead to a 2-1 lead.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Buckhead Bowties manager Kerry Hofmeister, "I like our chances."
Their 25-31 record puts the Bowties 10th in the Third League.
