Despite a great performance by Richardson City first baseman José Carlos Ramos, the Phoenix Hotspur defeated the Thundercats by the score of 7-5 at The Thunder Dome. Ramos went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. The win was credited to Jaime van de Weideven in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Manuel Franco took the loss. The Hotspur go to 36-27, putting them 4th in the Premier League.

Shojiro Ueda went 1 for 2 with 2 walks for Phoenix. The 25-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. That's when he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Manuel Franco. It was his 36th RBI of the season.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Ueda. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
