Stingers Sneak Past 84s, 4-3
|
The Toledo Stingers bested the Greenville 84s, 4-3, at Pacesetter Park. Dylan Carson was named player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Toledo reliever Joshua Barnes picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Adrián Fierro was saddled with the loss. The Stingers improved to a lofty 20-32 mark.
Locke Lamora was the walk-off hero for Toledo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the Toledo shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I like what I saw today," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
