Victory Pushes Flamingos Record to 24-24
|
The inspired effort of Chicago designated hitter Enrique Marroquín was not enough to prevent a 5-4 loss to the Las Vegas Flamingos. Marroquín went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Las Vegas reliever Seung-yeop Kim picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. António Rodríguez was saddled with the loss. Bartolo Ramírez was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.
There was more than one reason the Flamingos beat the Hawks, but one factor was Victor Adams. In the bottom of the seventh, the Las Vegas designated hitter came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 5-4 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Adams.
Las Vegas, at 24-24, occupies 7th place in the Third League.
