A nice crowd turned out to see the Austin Rangers and Panama City Piranhas clash at The Tank.

The Austin Rangers thumped the Panama City Piranhas, 11-2, at The Tank. Matt Sheppard was a big reason his team got the win. Sheppard went 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The Rangers saw their win-loss record go to 30-30. At the same time, the Piranhas fall to 36-24.

Tony Hernández aided the Austin cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.

Panama City manager Brian Talamante called the blowout loss "ugly."
