Halberds Get 6-1 Win Versus Tortolita
|
It was a good time at Ballpark of Alloway, where fans came to watch the Tortolita Drummers and Alloway Halberds get after it.
The Alloway Halberds topped the Tortolita Drummers, 6-1, in USSL Triple A action at Ballpark of Alloway. The player of the game was Alloway pitcher Orlando De Jesús. De Jesús, now 4-7, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, designated hitter Juan Salinas came through big-time for the Halberds. With Alloway leading 2-1, he belted a 2-run home run.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Salinas told the Alloway Daily News.
The last-place Halberds now have a win-loss record of 29-64.
