Alloway left-hander Gilberto Ramírez made an effective start against the Sunset District Fog at Fog Park, leading his team to a 3-1 win. Ramírez was the winning pitcher and moves to 2-9. He threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Alloway is in last place in the Silver AAA with a record of 27-61.
The Halberds beat the Fog in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the home run Vito Middendorf produced in the top of the third. Batting against Sunset District pitcher Roberto Silva, he gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run home run.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Ramírez.
