Lake Monsters Suffer 4-3 Loss to Lynx
|
The Calgary Lynx topped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-3, in USSL Triple A action at Lynx Stadium. The player of the game was Calgary pitcher and Santa Teresa, Venezuela native Héctor Cortéz. Alfonso Vera picked up the save for Calgary, his 6th of the year. Calgary is now 52-35, Vermont 42-45.
Also producing for Calgary was right fielder Daniel García, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, García was 1-2 with 2 walks.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Vermont manager Jack Barnes. "But we decided not to take it."
