Pennsauken center fielder Marc Beck was sensational. He was 1 for 1 with a home run and 2 walks, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Salt Lake City beat the Flyers, 6-5. Beck was named the player of the game despite the loss. Bill Fletcher picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 2 in 5.1 innings. Their 40-38 record puts the Buzz 5th in the Silver AAA.
Also having an impact was catcher Quigley Gibson, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second for Salt Lake City. For the game, Gibson went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Salt Lake City manager Enrique Zumaya.
