The Sunset District Fog racked up a win at Fog Park, bumping off the Pawnee ParksNRec, 4-1. Merlin Bassett, who started for Sunset District, pitched effectively for his team. Bassett went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-3. Cisco Flores was credited with the save for Sunset District, his 2nd of the season.
Also doing his part was second baseman Vicente Rodríguez, who stroked a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth for Sunset District. For the game, Rodríguez was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It was a solid team effort," said Bassett after the game.
Sunset District is in second place in the Silver AAA with a record of 45-31.
