Buzz Pull Back to .500 with Win over Fog
|
The Sunset District Fog and Salt Lake City Buzz brought some excitement to Spirits Stadium.
The Salt Lake City Buzz stymied the Sunset District Fog, 8-2, at Spirits Stadium. Thom Wilcox, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City starter Juan Ordóñez was credited with the win after throwing 91 pitches over 7.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-4.
It could have been a different outcome for Salt Lake City, had it not been for Frank Sharp, the top prospect . Sharp contributed a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second inning to put Salt Lake City up, 2-1.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Wilcox. "Just do my job."
With the victory, the Buzz record now stands at 36-36.
