León Helps Lynx Run Win Streak to 9
|
Benefiting from José León's productive game, the Calgary Lynx downed the Tortolita Drummers, 4-2. León was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Lynx. Héctor Cortéz, credited with the win, is now 8-2. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 6.2 innings. Alfonso Vera earned the save, his 4th, for the Lynx.
León had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the fourth. On a 1-2 forkball from Robbie Betchley, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Lynx a 2-1 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for León.
"It was a solid team effort," said León after the game.
The first-place Lynx have won 9 consecutive games.
