The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Pawnee ParksNRec, 4-3, in USSL Triple A action at Whips Ballpark. The player of the game was Vermont pitcher Roberto Cantú. Vermont reliever Rodas Aguilar was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Pedro Pérez took the loss. Vermont now sits in 8th place in the Silver AAA at 32-37.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, José Alcalá hit a 2-0 fastball from Pedro Pérez for a run-scoring single. It put Vermont in front, 3-2.

"Some of the guys in here work pretty hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Cantú told the Vermont Observer.
