Battlekings Fall to Buzz, 5-2
|
Salt Lake City beat Naperville at Spirits Stadium, escaping with a 5-2 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Justin MacPherson, who earned player of the game honors. He went 1-1 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Salt Lake City, now 34-33, holds 6th place in the Silver AAA.
Salt Lake City grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the seventh, when MacPherson, who is tied for 8th in the SAAA in triples with 3, hit a bases-clearing triple. His 3rd triple put the Buzz out in front, 4-2.
"I was a little disappointed," said Naperville manager Mark Harrison. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
