The Calgary Lynx powered past the Salt Lake City Buzz, 8-4, at Lynx Stadium. Gilberto Rodríguez went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. Felipe Machado picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-5. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. Domingo Velasco earned the save, his 7th, for the Lynx.
Early in the game, Rodríguez had a 3-run home run for Calgary. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Lynx on top, 3-2.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Salt Lake City manager Enrique Zumaya. "But we decided not to take it."
Calgary is now 33-25, Salt Lake City 28-30.
