Halberds Defeat Buzz, 5-3
|
Alloway right fielder Juan Salinas played a vital role in his team's 5-3 triumph over Salt Lake City. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI for Alloway. Orlando De Jesús was the winner. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, with 5 walks and no strikeouts. John Hicks nailed down his 3rd save.
Salinas came through with some timely hitting for Alloway. With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the first and two down, Salinas hit a first pitch splitter for a run-scoring single. It was his 44th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Halberds managed to win.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Salinas.
Alloway, at 15-36, occupies last place in the Silver AAA.
