Lake Monsters Turn Back Naperville, 4-3
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Naperville Battlekings, 4-3, in USSL Triple A action at Monster Field. The player of the game was Vermont pitcher and San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic native Manuel Montés. Cherles Gachineiro earned the save, his 9th. Vermont now sits at 22-25, while Naperville falls to 23-24.
Vermont first baseman Brad Tillman changed the complexion of the game in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he belted a 3-run home run off Tom McKee. His 2nd home run of the season put Vermont in front, 4-3.
"It was a good effort all around," said Tillman.
