Salt Lake City starter Brian Morris had a strong outing against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Monster Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 2-0 win. The winning pitcher was Morris, now 4-1. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. The 7th-place Buzz improved to 17-19.
Alejandro Herrera, the Salt Lake City shortstop, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 1-0, Buzz. For the game, Herrera went 1-4.
"We did just enough to win," said Morris.
