Halberds Suffer 2-1 Setback
The Port Royal Disaster and Alloway Halberds put on a pitchers' duel at Ballpark of Alloway.

The Port Royal Disaster got a magnificent performance from pitcher Magnus Scheving, who muffled the Alloway offense en route to a tight 2-1 Disaster win at Ballpark of Alloway. Port Royal, at 14-21, occupies 9th place in the Silver AAA.

Managua, Nicaragua-born Martín Méndez came through in the clutch. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded and the Disaster trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Port Royal on top.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Port Royal skipper Bobby Robinson.
