Austin Rangers starter Juan Valéncia pitched a strong game against the Detroit Renaissance at Rangers Stadium, leading the Rangers to a 2-1 win. The winner was Austin reliever Gavin Blackburn, now 2-1. The loser was Rafael García. With the win, the Rangers have a record of 26-27.

One significant at-bat for Austin came with the bases empty in the bottom of the 14th. The hitter, Tony Hernández, hit a double, which helped the Rangers go on to win.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Hernández.
