Lake Monsters Walk Off with 5-4 Win
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters eeked out a 5-4 win versus the Port Royal Disaster at Monster Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Roberto Cantú, who captured player of the game honors. At 13-16, the Lake Monsters are currently 8th in the Silver AAA.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the 12th, Ray John had a chance to end it. Port Royal pitcher Cipriano Costa had other ideas. But with one out, John hit a sacrifice fly. The Lake Monsters had the walk-off win.
"This game tested our mettle," said John.
