The Salt Lake City Buzz defeated the Alloway Halberds, 8-0. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Randy Schlosser, who was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Juan Ordóñez was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed no runs on 4 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. With the win over Alloway, the Buzz improved to 10-12.
In the bottom of the second, Alejandro Herrera hit a grand slam home run for Salt Lake City. The 1st home run of the season for the Salt Lake City shortstop put the Buzz on top, 4-0.
