The Fog had to overcome a fine performance from Calgary pitcher Morlack Spurgeon to grab a 3-2 win at Lynx Stadium. Spurgeon went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Rich Wright, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. The win takes Sunset District to 6-6.
Joaquín Reyes drew 2 walks for Sunset District. In the top of the eighth, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Reyes delivered for the Fog. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Sunset District on top, 3-2.
Reyes told the Sunset District Observer: "I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more.' You win just by scoring more runs."
