Late Rally by Lake Monsters Secures Win
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters topped the Pennsauken Flyers, 2-1, in USSL Triple A action at Pennsauken Park. The player of the game was Vermont pitcher Roberto Cantú. Cherles Gachineiro was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save. With the win, Vermont pushes its record to 5-4.
Late in the game, center fielder Rafael Pueblo had a big at-bat for Vermont. In the top of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Dominic Parker. The play gave the Lake Monsters a 2-1 lead.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Cantú told the Vermont Observer.
