Disaster Best Flyers in Pitching Duel
|
Cyrille Bertoletti pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Pennsauken Flyers, despite Bertoletti's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Port Royal Disaster at Ballpark of Port Royal. Port Royal, now 2-3, is off to a slow start.
The Disaster got a big at-bat from Nelson Abbey. For the game, Abbey went 1 for 3. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 4th hit of the season gave Port Royal a 2-1 lead.
"Runs were at a premium," said Port Royal manager Bobby Robinson.
